This is a combination of writings that I have read and also my own “Ann-thoughts”.
“Intuition knowledge” is not aligned to being “academic”. The word “intuition” is derived from the Latin “intueri” which means “to look within”. You can know something and not necessarily understand it. There is a huge difference between knowledge and understanding. There are sometimes things that you know but you possibly do not understand them – this is “intuitive knowing”; it is “sixth-sense” knowing.
The Ancients, such as North American Indians, the Mayans, the peoples of the Ancient tribes and cultures, were exceptional at intuitive knowing. But civilisation “progressed” and slowly repressed the intuitive for the logical; repressed the inner knowing for the rational. The right brain was compromised and the left brain, the logical brain, was expanded and extended. What has happened during this “mind evolution” is imbalance, disproportion, dysfunction.
Intuition is body/mind listening using not only your ears. One scientist defined it as “the process of reaching accurate conclusions based on inadequate information”. Another quote is “the more faithfully you listen to the voice within you, the better you will hear what is sounding outside”. Intuition occurs when we directly perceive facts outside the range of the usual five senses and is independent of any reasoning processes.
Hunches, gut feelings, sensation and senses and dreams are ways our inner gives us insight and knowledge to help us make decisions about any number of actions that we take, and any conclusions that we make. Intuition is something that we see, hear, feel within; an internal language that encourages insight and understanding.
You have probably heard the saying “a moment’s insight is sometimes worth a life’s experiences”. Intuition is a language from our soul, from our Gods, from our inner, from our essence. It is “another dimension kind of unconsciousness” that speaks to our human consciousness, offering us quick, keen insights into life problems of every day and suggesting potential solutions through the language of intuition, the language of the soul.
Intuition is not an aloofness, a superiority, bizarre, off-beat or super-natural, it is simply a common sense that is common to each and every one of us. It is in fact an especial common sense, and it can reveal amazing things to not only great scientists, but also to the humblest of individuals. Think of Einstein, Steve Hawkins, David Ash, Sir Martin Rees.
The amazing “peculiarity” of intuition is its characteristic to never force its opinion upon us, or its knowledge. We are free to take note of what it says, or not. We are never bound to intuition, it is totally free and non-restrictive. Intuition is perhaps the humblest but the most powerful type of knowledge.
Working within the intuitive field feels like what the poets call: “Touching the face of God”.
